As part of the research Operational Geographies, this open talk is an occasion for debate between academia and intermediate bodies. Reflections will address the territories of production in Northern Italy, their ongoing changes, and their local and global networks.
Some open questions will guide the discussions:
[Transcalarity of economic dynamics and socio-technical processes]
How do the geographies of logistics, energy production, mining, and manufacturing help break down the local-global and urban-rural dichotomies
[Political and economic spatialities of the Northern Italy macro-region]
How can the heterogeneity of boundaries emerging from ‘operational geographies’ help to analyse the new geography of powers?
[Emerging policies and spatial strategies]
What are the assessments on NRRP, Zone Logistiche Semplificate, and policies on ports and inland terminals?
[Effects of the crises]
What fragilities and dynamics have emerged and are emerging from the consequences of the pandemic and the ongoing geopolitical crisis?
